yea i love how dish/directv had been offering espn2HD for well over a year before time warner finally picked it up. Nonetheless this is an improvement

^

having directv, espnu hd is an advantage for time warner. DirecTV doesn't even have espnu as a channel in there regular programming, and they also are not broadcasting it in hd

^^^TWC always puts hd stations in greensboro first, then later in raleigh. They are supposedly switching to a new policy soon where the hd channels get added everywhere in NC at the same time

FSN is scheduled to go full time HD in January I believe, so I would expect you'll see that rolled out in early 2009.

I just saw FSNHD on my channel guide (Ch 272)... I'd swear it wasn't there a few days ago. Anyone know when they added it?

Dec. 3, 2008: Fox Sports Carolinas HD is launched on Channel 272. Please note that Fox Sports Carolinas HD isn't a full-time HD channel. When there is not an HD sporting event airing, the channel will have color bars displayed and the guide will read “Sign Off.” All HD programming appears in the on-screen as scheduled.

^^ Caveat, just because FSNS has an HD channel now doesn't mean that all broadcasts (even of live sports) will be in HD.

See: TV Contract, Carolina Hurricanes.
