Companies that do mail in rebates hope that you'll feel that way and just not mail in.
10/30/2008 11:29:04 PM
I've just stopped buying mail-in-rebate items.

I bought a laser printer with a $50 rebate two years ago. Never got it. Samsung
10/30/2008 11:33:47 PM
I always get mine, but radio shack will take over a year sometimes.
10/30/2008 11:34:58 PM
i used to work with a guy that was super meticulous about keeping track of those things.he'd keep a spreadsheet of when he mailed them in and when they should be returning. he also made copies of all the documents just in case. what a nerd.he always got his coin though.
10/30/2008 11:35:31 PM
Yeah I will usually bitch until I get mine. There have been a few big ones over the years I have screwed up and not gotten. There was a $70 one from Vonage, and another $100 from Best Buy. On those I missed the deadlines. If I sent that shit in and was entitled to it I will raise all hell until the check comes though.

I mean most things that have a rebate you can get way cheaper online.
10/31/2008 1:34:35 AM
I always feel I'm not going to get around to filling them out, and I'm usually right
10/31/2008 1:42:40 AM
Besides all the garbage involved in filling them out, I did get my $20 from eVGA today. Took right at 2 months to show up.
10/31/2008 4:07:14 AM
^^^ You can't beat free
10/31/2008 7:35:05 AM
I thought this was an ambrosia thread
10/31/2008 8:17:31 AM
actually about 42% of people are too damn lazy to mail them in, even on $100+ rebates on cell phonesits a way of putting something on sale and never really losing profits
10/31/2008 8:19:03 AM
I missed the deadline on a lowes rebate
10/31/2008 8:19:37 AM
has anyone had luck with getting a rebate even if you missed the postmarked deadline by 5 days?
12/5/2008 2:30:36 PM
i missed it by 2 days and got mine
12/5/2008 2:46:44 PM
I got a laptop with a $200 MIR once, it said it would take up to 6 weeks for me to receive my money.I got it like 2 days into the 7th week.WTF takes them so long?
12/5/2008 2:51:56 PM
Forgot about this thread, but I did get my checks in the mail Saturday. 80 bucks
1/20/2009 9:15:18 AM
I always do mail-in-rebates. I don't see why anyone would not. Even if it's only $5.
1/20/2009 9:16:27 AM
I won't buy something that is a "good price" after rebate. The rebates are painful to do, and sometimes they don't send them to you, and i don't have the time to waste hours following up on deadbeat companies over $20. so if the price is only good after rebate, i don't bother.

I hate those things. I forget them the moment I put them in the mail, so I never follow up. A rebate offer for a DVD required me to cut out the barcode, which meant digging out the label from under the plastic. What a pain for $7
