Went out Friday night with the wife. Drove up to the top of a mountain. Had some nice reclining fold up chairs. Found a great spot. Sky was clear. Got set up and within 5 mins a bunch of asshole clouds rolled in and ruined everything. Stayed out for about 45 mins hoping the clouds would go away to no avail. ?_?
Went out to the backyard on Sat night at like 2am though and saw about 6 over the course of an hour before falling asleep. One was big enough to see it's tail. Was pretty good. 8/15/2016 12:00:47 PM |

I just saw one myself. The best meteor shower I ever saw was the Leonids in 1998. I saw probably two or three dozen fireballs that night, each brighter than Venus at its brightest. That was the last major peak of the Leonids; I think they have a peak every 33 years or so (when comet Tempel–Tuttle swings by with a heavy dust cloud). 11/17/2020 1:48:09 AM |

The Northern Taurids are peaking tonight umm it's only 5 per hour though, best viewed after midnight
