the police knocked on my door for "30 min" but i was gone all day


my roommate got towed and 9 other people on my road were towed


anyone know anything about this? can i get my car out w/o paying since they essentially stole my car from my house?

can the police get it back for me w/o paying?

The street is not your driveway. Again . . . . the street is NOT your driveway. Depending on local zoning and ordinances its entirely possible that parking on the street were you are is illegal. Its simply a matter of whether or nor the police ever decide to enforce it . . . . in this case, they apparently did. Even if the law is obscure or silly or rarely enforced its still your obligation to obey it, that's the way the legal system works.

If you don't like it, get a lawyer. Or read the relevant laws yourself and argue your case to the DA. Neither is difficult to do, you just have to bother to do so. If you're not willing to do at least that much than just pay the fee and be done with it.

My neighbor said if the street is not wide enough they can tow cars anytime without any notice. By cramming the street you create a danger for the community. If the fire truck can't get through easily someone might die in fire. We all know it's up the guy wearing the uniform to give ticket or not. On highway so many people go 100mph and some go only 5 miles above and get a ticket if some douche is sitting out wanting to do the job.

i live on henslowe which is right off lake wheeler, across the street from the park


i talked to the police and they said to file an appeal with the city revenue dept. and i MIGHT get reimbursed


the officer who knocked on my door said that he did not want to tow it but his supervisor said to do it anyway because there was a warning sign up, when it was in fact a warning for oct 18 and 19

so i still got towed and had to get a voucher from the police dept to take to garner to get my car back ... 143 bucks

the paving wasnt even done by the city apparently, it was a private company

I know the one time I got towed by the city here in asheboro for an "invalid tag and no proof of insurance" was $140. the tow truck driver there and another one in charlotte both told me that was standard when the city called a tow truck driver

i had all the shit printed off from the insurance website showing i had coverage and my tag was valid. i never got reimbursed though

out of all the cars that got towed, ive been the only one, that i know of, thats going to appeal it because the other people dont want to waste time through the process


this tow company, ivey towing and storage, is profiting off rpd's calls ... they made over 1000 bucks off of one friday of towing cars illegally, because a officer told them too

if they had put out a flyer, or even made a sign with the right date, regardless of how small it was, then i have no case to complain
