Only sticks after letting it sit a while (30+ mins). Needs a GOOD bit of breaker bar force to get going, but once it gets going, it's perfectly smooth and effortless.

what could be the culprit?? I've tried re-seating the crank (hitting it with a mallet back and forth during torquing). I'm constantly rotating the thing as I'm tightening the bolts.

It's not the rods/pistons binding up. Crank was checked out and OK'ed by the machine shop; it just got polished. All bearings are standard size Clevites and assembly lube is on everything.

What are the symptoms of a warped crank/block/girdle? I figured if it can rotate silky smooth, then nothing would be warped...

Video to come

are the caps on in their original position? may need to be align honed, what are your bearing clearances? don't rely on plasitgage, torque down the caps with the bearings in and use an inside micrometer and compare to you journal OD

are any of the mains discolored?

I talked to the machine shop and they laid the knowledge on me

I (knowingly) mismatched girdle and block thinking it'd be OK. Apparently it doesn't work that way Matching block and girdle are now in the works at the machine shop.

^^the shop is called Poteat's in kannapolis, NC.
