04 Chevy Colorado, 3.5 L

Sounds like a clicking noise coming from my belt tensioner. It doesn't do it all the time, and varies in severity each time it happens. proportional to rpm's as well.

thoughts, suggestions, etc?

Perhaps a crack in the exhaust manifold?

My dad's water pump started squealing like a pig a few weeks ago.
Then he proceeded to put another 200 miles on the truck (the majority of which were towing a 4,000 lb load) until it locked up and he had to get towed.
A stitch in time...

well lets see

1.) could be something simple/easy fix, that I don't know about
2.) I didn't know what was wrong/the solution, thus how would I know that it would take too long before I made this thread?
3.) so I have more than one diagnosis. Yes, mechanics do like to shit people out of money

^^ must be a ford, the water pump on big red made it almost 50k miles with a bad bearing and a pretty good leak
