I think women should be allowed 2 sick days per month for PMS. It would be a win-win situation for everyone involved, as it would save the men in the office from having to deal with the tyrannical bitch that I become during that time.

I'd go for this:
Men : 1 extra vacation day per month, taken whenever
Women : same as above OR 3 1/2 days taken consecutively OR 2 days + telecommute on both

Move to Japan. I am entitled to two days leave every month for PMSing. They're unpaid though 11/11/2008 1:23:38 AM |

shit I'd take the unpaid days or work from home. Guys have no idea about running to the bathroom to change tampons all the time, being in a meeting and having your shit bleed through, and cramps. oh yeah and being bitchy. 11/11/2008 10:37:59 AM |
quagmire02 All American 44225 Posts user info edit post |
well, duh, i'd work from home, too, were that an option
but you don't DESERVE paid days off just because you don't feel good...those are called sick days
seriously, though, if they wanted to give y'all unpaid days off when the moon's flow is upon you...by all means 11/11/2008 10:39:14 AM |

Well can we start out with 24 sick days per year?
I haven't gotten to the point where I realize that I'm being a bitch. I only realize it a week later haha. Ooooh so that's why I told the waitress to fuck off when she brought my check....makes sense now!

Seriously, though...if you can't be civil at work and function in an acceptable manner, regardless of the time of month, maybe you ought to closely examine whether you're fit to work outside of your home at all. 11/11/2008 11:07:43 AM |

No they could pay us for them and use it to narrow the pay gap b/w men and women. Just calculate the extra benefit from the days off into a salary package. 11/11/2008 11:08:25 AM |

women get paid less for this very reason...as the OP has noted, they require special consideration, if not in the number of compensated sick days, but in how everyone must walk on eggshells with them a couple of times per month
women are probably overpaid, actually 11/11/2008 11:54:27 AM |

I'm probably one of the more patient and civil people here, but when hormones are wonk, and I'm answering the same question for the eleventy-billionth time, or dealing with someone that is being a huge turd, I just think of how lovely it would be to be at home curled up in the bed.
Really you could call these mental health days so they would apply to men as well. I KNOW plenty of men that need mental health days from dealing with people.11/11/2008 12:15:09 PM |
