Two days ago was the thirty year anniversary of the mass suicide at Jonestown, Guyana. I'm currently watching an excellent documentary on JJ made by PBShttp://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3625536419231928674I'm surprised there are so many recordings and videos of him and his people's temple. Check it out if you have a spare 90 min. Also, San Diego State University has a good archive of Jim Jones stuff online.http://jonestown.sdsu.edu/Interesting man and a bizarre set of circumstances.

Just finished watching it. Very well made but undoubtedly creepy. I'd listened to the Jonestown recordings that took place just before the suicide about a year ago and it's the same feeling of disbelief. It's amazing how one man can have so much power over people and yet it's an invisible stranglehold that most of the followers couldn't see.

i don't know of either of the companies have rights to broadcast PBS stuff but there have been numerous programs on this matter so if you've seen one, you know pretty much all of it.this one was amazing because they had interviews from the people who survived the suicide as well as people who survived the attack on congressman ryan's plane.

http://www.archive.org/details/ptc1978-11-18.flac16that site has the audio recording of the day of the mass suicidesi was reading all the comments, this one guy says it was a conspiracy and then posted an excerpt from Lt. Col. James "Bo" Gritz. Gritz book about the tragedy, and claims that "the Guyana massacre was carried out by Bo Gritz' men (along with British SAS troops)."heres the excerpt:
