I've got a Toshiba Satellite U205-S5002 and for the past few of months I have to fiddle with the charging plug more and more to get it to charge. In the past couple of days I can't really get it to charge at all.
I'm pretty sure that I'm getting a good connection with the plug and adapter and getting voltage in but it never charges.
Is there any sort of common problem with the laptop power connections? 11/13/2008 9:30:17 PM |

Yea...it's called fiddling with stuff. You probably broke the connection on the power jack on the inside of the laptop. 11/13/2008 9:33:02 PM |

It might be your power brick. My friend had one die on him after a little over a year on an A205. He also had the LCD die 3 months later. The cheap Toshiba laptops are exactly what they are, cheap. They are only meant to last for a year.

Generally these break because of poor design. I have also known a couple of people that have broken these and have never dropped their laptop.11/13/2008 10:14:39 PM |

i have the same problem with my ac adapter, but i think it's because i wrap the cord around the brick when i'm transporting it. over time the cord gets really stressed like that, and now i can actually see wires 11/13/2008 10:38:06 PM |
