I want them to give me a natural "real" sound, nothing enhanced
I will be using them for recording, you see 11/14/2008 1:04:47 PM |

I've had a pair of Philips HN110s for a few years. I don't know if they're studio quality, but they're the best all-around headphones I've ever owned. ~$75 11/14/2008 1:07:54 PM |

speaking from experience, i do NOT recommend the sony MDR-V600's
quality is fine enough, but the arch thing in between the two earpieces got bent/broke. and over time, the covering on the earpieces has eroded and leaves little black flecks of fabric material on my ears/face
plus, they retail around $99 (don't know if they still make them though) 11/14/2008 1:25:47 PM |

Grado SR-60. Best pair I've ever owned and I have a pair of Sennheisers to. The Grados are incredible, very high quality craftsmanship and excellent sound. 11/15/2008 3:46:27 PM |

I've got the Sennheiser HD 202's, which are a lot cheaper than the 280s. They work for me, but I'm just listening to music with them from time to time. They're very comfortable though.
