Haven't been there, but I know Greg Cox of the N&O had it as the best restaurant (of any kind) in the Triangle last year. What are the prices like? I'm assuming dinner is quite expensive, but I see that they are open for lunch as well.

Surely, you jest.

haha, my grandparents used to take me there when it was in that shitty little strip mall off Leadmine Rd.

In the US? Wow. Surely there are restaurants where you can get a better meal that happens to be seafood.

do you think they take more into account besides just the TASTE of the food? because on the food network they always care about color and presentation and taste (as a whole) but also taste of individual stuff...like sauces. and spices. and blah blah. they probably take a lot of factors into account, no?

my grandma's kitchen took 1st place[Edited on November 18, 2008 at 3:23 PM. Reason : i'm proud to supply the raw goods for the nation's #1 seafood restaurant ]

That place is good but doesn't hold a candle to good home cooked seafood.

No way does a place in NC even come close to best seafood. RI-Nova Scotia coast kills shit around here.

^^i don't supply seafood to Fins

Why would an inland seafood restaurant be rated that high? This is the reason good old seafood places with red and white checkered table cloths are a dying breed.
11/18/2008 4:24:58 PM
^^Oh, your grandma's kitchen. My bad.

Just because seafood may be better in the Northeast doesn't mean the restaurants that serve the seafood are better.

I doubt that raleigh being "inlet makes"that big of a difference when we are two hours from the coast. It's not like they are shipping the stuff by horse and carriage now. Even Ahi tuna from Hawaii is shipped overnight and can be here having only been out of the water for 2 days. We are all probably more of an expert on food than the guy writing for Bon Apetit though.
