Are the Enforcer, the Perpetrator, or indifferent ?

I'm like the Chief

Not about adhering to the dress code; I could give a fuck about that

I make sure people's outfits coordinate

Belts and shoes, shirts and ties, etc...anyone with a clashing outfit knows to steer clear of me as long as possible

because I will call them out, officially or otherwise

It's amazing how clueless some otherwise successful people are about clothing choices

I'm the scoffer.
I like to look at people, scan up and down once, and then kind of roll my eyes as I look away from them.

i could give a shit less. in the construction business i don't often meet too many people i need to impress fashionwise. I know i coordinate and that's all that matters.

as for the other 4 people in my office...khakis and a button down is pretty hard to fuck up.

That's why they make reversible belts for guys, black one side, brown the other.
My gf freaked when she discovered this, wanted to know why they didn't make them for women.

there is just no place in my line of work for fancy clothes. I'd love to rock a tailored 3 piece suits and some great italian dress shoes and the like, but it just doesn't fit in this industry.

My wife and I just make fun of people with no fashion sense quietly amongst ourselves. The most recent example is the guy I saw at Harris Teeter wearing what were obviously women's jeans, along with a stupid-looking tweed stingy-brim fedora. At the same store was a woman wearing a nice knee-length coat with a floor-length brown skirt underneath that made her look like a 19th century cleaning lady. I don't understand what goes through these people's minds when they get dressed.

I just make sure to stay somewhere in the middle. It's easy to do in engineering, on one end of the spectrum you have a guy wearing white socks/tennis shoes/polo/khakis and on the other you have the suits. I just make sure my belt, socks, and shoes match, that's pretty much the only place you can go wrong with polo/button up and khakis.

My own wardrobe consists mainly of Brooks Brothers shirts, sweaters, & trousers. Not terribly expensive but they make me look like I made an effort to look good in public. I only wear jeans for laborious tasks where I wouldn't want my nice pants getting messed up. Winter outerwear is my Barbour border jacket, my charcoal Ralph Lauren topcoat, or sometimes my leather A-1 flight jacket from Orvis, topped off with either a wool fedora or a driving cap.

Uh, they do. I have one. Wal-mart is your friend for that sort of thing, because who really needs to buy a BELT at department store prices?

Don't answer that question, it'll make me lose more faith in humanity.

I once thought the same thing, and even owned a belt or two from Wal-Mart, but there is definitely a difference between a Faded Glory belt and a Cole Haan belt. I can't help but chuckle when I see someone with a belt that's been stretched and warped where it goes through the back belt loop.

I'll never forget the big fat lady with her huge torpedo tits swinging around under a t-shirt with Tweety on it, her purple sweatpants doing all they could to contain her jiggling thighs as she waddled down the sidewalk.

at the office i used to work at (insurance) there were extremes. i mean it was pretty casual dress. like men could wear a regular polo shirt and khakis and nice shoes...whatev.

but then you'd have large women coming in wearing shorts--like actual shorts that you wear on the weekend to chill out or mow the lawn. but then at the opposite end you have my mom that would get mad if women wore bermuda shorts (like the black suit-ish kind), flats and a conservative top (like a sweater). i mean i get it isn't traditional but it isn't any worse than a polo shirt and khakis. but the bigger problem would be the people wearing strapless things, booty shorts, etc.

ugh office dynamics.

^^^^ because my bank accounts say otherwise

I don't need to dress up to know who I am and how much I'm worth.
