esnipe is not quite free. The first few hundred $'s worth of wins is free, but after that you're supposed to paypal them some money. I have probably won $2k+ worth of auctions with eSnipe and I think I've sent them either $15 or $20 over the years. I'm sure I saved more than that on any one of the many auctions I've won through them, so it is well worth it.

Wow, is this legal, or at least within the ToS?

I still refuse to believe that sniping saves you any money at all. I know it's been discussed to death, but I just don't believe it.

E-snipe.

I try not to use it really, I get more of a rush sniping people on my own.

It's really not free, either. E-snipe will charge you bid points which you have to buy eventually.

Sniping is not only legal on eBay is it encouraged. http://forums.ebay.com/db1/thread.jspa?threadID=42000&tstart=0&mod=1227227397011

It definitely saves you money. Too many eBay users sit there plugging in bids until the auction ends instead of just putting in their max bid.
