one time when I was on this backpacking trip in montana, our group had to scale down this sheer cliff

we set up cables and shit to slide down during certain sections

this one girl takes off her backpack to get on the cable

her backpack starts sliding and then falliing down the cliff RIGHT in my direction

I was on a tiny section of footing with my pack on and i saw that shit coming and tried to grab this nearby tree but it was too far and b/c of the footing i wouldnt get there it time

had the pack not hit this rock and veered off to the left i would have been knocked off the cliff and fell about 300 feet

got caught between some rogue breakers in beaufort inlet once and the boat almost turned over. probably wouldn't have died unless i got knocked unconscious during it, though.

got in a wreck when i raced karts where i got turned around in the groove where everyone was coming out of turn 2. i was just sitting there with nowhere to go. a guy hit me head on and went over the top of me, just barely grazed my helmet. 2 inches lower and i would've taken a kart to the visor of my helmet and probably would've broken my neck.

almost stepped on a moccasin fishing at a pond near my house when i was a kid. i was down there on my bicycle and had no cell phone or anything. if he had've bit me i might've died.

and the other time when I was younger I tripped when I was carrying my flute and it jammed into my mouth and thru the roof into my sinus cavity...doctor said if it was something longer like a clarinet it would have gone right thru to my frontal lobe

I've sailed through a tropical storm, been in various storms w/ a 70 ft metal mast, was born very early...


I think the closest was a very bad accident on the interstate, that I walked away from un-injured. Nobody on the scene had ever seen anyone walk away from what I did. Half the people there said I should have died.

I was about 7 or 8 and playing around with some of my cousins in the ocean. We were doing this game where we dove under the little inflatable boat and swam to the other side. When it was my turn, the guys thought it would be funny to keep moving the boat so I'd have farther to swim. They took it too far and I started to panic, because I couldn't figure out why I couldn't come up for air, and there was someone sitting in the boat so I couldn't just push it up and stand up.

I managed to turn around and move away from the boat but that really felt like a close one at the time.

hmm....this one is more a garage worthy topic for me

I was riding with a friend(at the time) in a 03 Cobra, its a 400 horsepower Mustang for all you non-car ppl out there...we were flying down the road going bout 110-120mph, came into a slight curve in the road the ass end of the cobra came out and smashed into the side of a Tahoe that was coming around the turn

we hit the tahoe going about 85-95 mph but hittin the tahoe was the only thing that kept us from flying off the otherside of the road into what would have been thick trees and certain death.....yea it was a close call

I ate some street food in Peru, then went on the 3 day Inca Trail. Really high up, low oxygen, I threw up twice, the second time I just fell over next to the trail throwing up and about shat me pants too. But the guides sat me up, rubbed some weird-smelling oil on my face, and by night I could drink without throwing up.

Also, drinking and mess with friends on a friend's roof, then the next thing I knew I woke up on the couch in the living room. They told me that I'd just randomly stood up and left them on the roof by walking down a ladder (facing away from the house). Probably wouldn't have died, but could've got muy hurt.
