but that's the thing about posting your poems online, unless your blog is blocked to only your friends. anyone can find it and steal it. happens a lot on line with any media, esp. pictures.


I like poetry but all mine are on random pieces of paper I've prob. lost poems this way but my poems are personal so hardly anyone does see them.

I have a degree in literature... I'm not a poetry expert but I suppose I've studied it more than you have

it is kind of a bad poem

I mean bravo for writing poetry and it wasn't, by any means, the worst thing I've ever read

think about it. i put up a drunk video of me doing the hammertime dance. haha funny great.

then i put up a poem and instantly people will either love it or hate it. and if they hate it most people will be ruthless. as if putting your feelings out there wasnt scary enough.....

just because a kid finger painting comes from the heart doesn't it make it 'good.'

good poetry is good because you have a million different ways to say what you want and you can pick certain ways to do that. some of those ways are creative and articulate and some of them are trite and boring. a very heartfelt person can write very bad poetry.

i also consider this statement to be an insult to 'real' poets. you wouldn't call some moron with a DSLR a photographer just because he bought an expensive camera.

^Good find. I'm trying to watch the video of her but it just keeps spinning and then plays a different video that doesn't have her in it.

Also this thread reminds me of this girl that I used to work with (that was coincidentally good friends with a TWWer). She used to always copy poems from tumblr and change words slightly to make them fit her own life so it sounded like she wrote them. I would always google them and be able to find the original source but sat on the info because I didn't want to start some work drama. Her friends would always comment about how great of a writer she was and shit and she would never correct them so after I quit that job and didn't have to see her anymore I dropped the tumblr link to one of the poems on the comments of her facebook post right below where her friends were praising her. She blocked me with a quickness but I like to think that some of her friends found out she was a faker.
