Need some info/advice from some card carrying smart guys around here.
It looks like I am going to have to replace the earphone jack of my 80GB Ipod.
I have seen a ton of sellers carrying these parts. They range in prices from 11-75 dollars. Some claim to be OEM and others don't say.
What I want to know is this. Is there really any difference in the replacement jacks? In fact..since this one is dying after 2 years...is there a replacement that is BETTER than OEM? Or should I just get the cheapest I can find and be done with it? 11/27/2008 8:43:37 AM |

$75 is ridiculous for a headphone jack.
I would think you could get one more than acceptable enough for $15, just make sure it's for your iPod. 11/27/2008 11:38:32 AM |

ive done this
not hard, just be patient and pay attention and be careful with the tiny parts
the kit i got with the replacement part had the tools to pop the case open as well
