Road blocks don't only suck if you drink. They also suck if your inspection is out, you have an expired registration, any number of light bulbs out, etc. All avoidable issues but even if you're one day out on registration and/or inspection they can ticket you. Not that they would (unless you're a douche), but they could.

i had a roommate who did some time (it was some bullshit... he did fuck up, but he shouldn't have been sent to jail)... aaaanyway, he still hates going through checkpoints and similar things because he always gets shit from cops

i have a friend who feels the same way, and rightfully so. he was arrested for dwi one night. the cop pulled him after following him for a few miles and when pulled (i was there) he told the cop he had two drinks. so the cop writes him up for his expired registration, tells him to blow and he blows a .04 and then arrests him for dwi. at the station he blew a .02 or .03 (i was his witness) and then got to leave. but its all still on his record.

he says he still gets shit all the time and pulled more often at night now.

i don't see where your disconnect is.

at the site he blew a .04. i recall because my exact thoughts were thats exactly half the limit we should be good to go. the cop arrested him b/c the field breath tests aren't accurate which is why they have an official one at the station. i take it the cop was gambling he was on the way up and not on the way down and had more than the two drinks he said he had.

at the station he had to blow on the official machine. this was a good 15minutes later, maybe 20 and he blew a .03. cops file an arrest report, so it showed up as an arrest and was put into the system. the DA sees that the minimum standards aren't met and then dismisses the case but this doesn't remove the report.

oh AND he still had to go to court for the inspection sticker.
most cops typically don't fuck with it but this cop was a state trooper, and clearly in a pissy mood.
