1.4 is next gen. methinkshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Versions
12/5/2008 4:27:13 PM
^^
12/5/2008 4:27:32 PM
Correct, HDMI 1.4 will operate on all (4?)6 differential pairs and provide 3.4Gb/s per channel (pretty sure that's right, i know that currently 1 set is unused and they want to start using it). This will provide the necessary bandwidth to control advanced features... so they say... Sony and Panasonic purchase these chipsets so I get to go to Japan and Taiwan yearly, as well as trips to Ireland where the ADI foundries are [Edited on December 5, 2008 at 4:50 PM. Reason : heh I don't know if it's 4 or 6 channels, My job is to make the really fast block and copy N times]
12/5/2008 4:45:58 PM
Sweet...I see a SANTE in your future. You know they'll to like 15 year financing now, right?
12/5/2008 5:17:31 PM
I'm shooting for 10 year financing on a gently used one... And it'll be spring 2010, like I said earlier, when I'll have everything paid off and have started saving for various things in life. But yes a SANTE SOOOOONSTOKED!!!

^^^ 2-3 year old boats haven't been depreciating much lately. I think it's largely a result of boat prices going up so much every year. You might do almost as well to buy a leftover (but new) 09 in winter/2009 or spring/2010. I've known a couple of guys who got ~$15k off sticker that way. 2-3 year old used ones were only a few grand less and they were at that point where the warranties were starting to run out. The Fall boat show here in Raleigh is a great place to look for those kinds of deals.Spring is the worst time to buy. You're almost guaranteed to pay top dollar. Just something to think about when the time comes.[Edited on December 5, 2008 at 6:17 PM. Reason : l]

Congrats! Must feel good. I have an interview next week for a 10 month position, but it has lots of opportunity, if it works out in my favor.
