*I know little to nothing about stereo equipment.*
We have a stereo system at work.
The amp is: http://store.phantomdynamics.com/gx300prstam.html
It has died.
Should I buy the same thing again?
As a new one can be had for $200, are there any other products that might be recommended that cost the same or less, that would be better?
Any alternative choices must not require any other equipment changes. All input/outputs must be the same.

american audio/gemini is like... the bastard son of audio equipment
http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHA500 you'll be much happier with this, it's actually a pretty decent amp though you can't expect MUCH from a $200 amp] 12/6/2008 2:17:08 PM |

if you want something that will last (and will probably be cheaper in the long run due to the fact you don't have to replace it every x number of years), go with QSC 12/6/2008 6:32:41 PM |

Most places I've DJed use Crown or QSC amps. We always beat the snot out of them and never had a problem. If it is something for permanent installation then you'll have to worry about them even less, just keep the ventilation ports clear of dust and don't get them wet.
Either of these brands start at $300 and go up from there.
