i don't make a stink. if the price doesn't ring up as advertised, i let them know. if they don't fix it, i just don't buy it. no need to argue with idiots.

^i'd say 5% of the price, minimum $1 total [Edited on December 7, 2008 at 2:28 PM. Reason : ]
12/7/2008 2:28:25 PM
5%, but only if it's a discount (coupon, etc)If it rang up more than was on the tag, I want every penny back and then some for my trouble.
12/7/2008 2:28:33 PM
what if 1% was a million dollars? your percentage fails!
12/7/2008 2:29:18 PM
^your percentage fails too. Both replies said 5%, not 1%
12/7/2008 2:31:54 PM
uh the amount that would make it not worth it to buy, or not worth it to walk back and show them the sign. then again i work general stock in a grocery store so i know how much everything costs and i rarely shop anywhere elseI'm Big Business and i approved this message.

I can't imagine having to be on the other side of the counter when some overweight lesbian ogre comes up with a passive agressive stance at the ready, god DAMN you're disgusting^
12/7/2008 2:38:33 PM
it's not like the cashiers can really do any damn thing about it. they ring shit up, not control prices.

The night I did a ride a long w/ the police, a woman held a convience store up for what was left of a box of Newports. The officer immediately recognized the car, plate, and woman, looked through his files in the car, found her number, and called her. By the end of the night, she had turned herself in.The police officer and I were LOLing the whole time.
12/7/2008 2:40:50 PM
^nice
12/7/2008 2:41:47 PM
well, in that case i'd raise hellbut yea, i'm thinking more like the average walmart cashier that just swipes shit and hits total
12/7/2008 2:42:31 PM
Don't shop at walmart (I know what you mean, though)

its acceptable to bitch if you don't have enough money in cash and don't want to use a debit card or something as well. but when you come in with your designer clothes, your 8 year old kid has an iPhone and fake nails, then you bitch over something being 2.30 instead of 2.15 then give me a $100, i have the right to shit on your existenceI'm Big Business and i approved this message./]
12/7/2008 2:49:13 PM
unless the total is under 10 dollars i won't fight over anything price difference under like 3 or 4 dollars.

when you return/exchange an item, the tax goes along with it. if the two boxes of bars were the same price, the transaction would have come up to $0.00. someone fucked up somewhere. either the cashier didn't do the exchange transaction correctly or the bars were $.16 more than the others, which would be a problem if the tags said they were the same price.it's just the principle of the thing.[Edited on December 7, 2008 at 3:04 PM. Reason : everyone should have to work in a grocery store for a month]
12/7/2008 3:03:26 PM
^Thank you.If I legitimately owed the money, you bet your ass I'd have paid up.
12/7/2008 3:04:16 PM
besides, 9 times out of 10, customers don't know what the fuck they're talking about. When i can go 15 minutes without being handed an expired coupon i'll treat customers as if they have a bit of intelligence and might have a clue as to what they're talking about.I'm Big Business and i approved this message.
12/7/2008 3:04:59 PM
You know why they do that, right?Because sometimes expired coupons will still scan, and most cashiers definitely don't check expiration dates. It's a 'might as well try it' scenario. IMO, it's only okay if you're gonna buy the item with or without the coupon. Otherwise, you're making more work for the cashier or someone else.[Edited on December 7, 2008 at 3:06 PM. Reason : lkdfj]

if you had've come into one of the grocery stores i worked in during HS i would've just checked that the prices were the same, put the old box back on the shelf, and give you the box you wanted and initialed your receipt. easiest thing for all parties involved. common sense is hard to find in a grocery store employee.
12/7/2008 3:06:50 PM
idk where i work they definitely don't scan the week after they expireI'm Big Business and i approved this message.
