Wouldn't you just not go out with them in the first place? Cause isn't their name one of the first things you learn about them? Maybe?
12/9/2008 10:34:07 AM
wut if dey talked lik this u noe it boi[Edited on December 9, 2008 at 10:34 AM. Reason : ]
12/9/2008 10:34:26 AM
if you really don't like their name why would you be with them in the first place?
12/9/2008 10:34:27 AM
Yes, if her name was Satan.
12/9/2008 10:34:57 AM
nahbut I wouldn't go out with them in the first place if their name was that much of an issue
12/9/2008 10:35:16 AM
I don't think I would start to date someone if they had a name I couldn't live with... so, no, I wouldn't dump them b/c of their name.I couldn't date anyone with the same name as an ex-bf.
12/9/2008 10:35:38 AM
if their middle name was something like hussein--i ain't marryin' no dadgummed terrorist

I have this friend who broke up with a guy because his name was Fabian or some shit like that...She said she felt superficial, but it's not like she could stop calling him his name....his ass got dropped cause of his name...LOL...and she broke up with someone because of their name...LOL...people are always entertaining, no?
12/9/2008 10:38:06 AM
i dont think i could date a Bertha. No matter how hot she was.
12/9/2008 10:39:14 AM
12/9/2008 10:39:48 AM
My brother dated a girl who had the same name as his best friend (a guy), he just couldn't call her that so he always called her by her last name. Also, one of my friends dated a Gertrude, but a lot of times he just called her Trude. All that being said, I don't care what their name is, I'd just give them a nickname if their name was horible.
12/9/2008 10:42:01 AM
12/9/2008 10:42:55 AM
i've thought about this before but in a little different wayas in not breaking up but not even moving forwardi have never had luck with girls named christie, kristie and crystal so that may just be a deal breaker
12/9/2008 10:43:36 AM
yeah thats pretty much what i mean gunzz, not proceeding. everyone is taking it a little too literally like i'm talking about a divorce or something. I JUST CAN'T ARTICULATE
12/9/2008 10:49:25 AM
^^Well, that is because they were most likely white trash.I'd imagine the same would go for a Misty, Billie, or Bobbie, or any "Jo" names.[Edited on December 9, 2008 at 10:51 AM. Reason : .]
12/9/2008 10:50:25 AM
^^i made the thread about dating someone with the same name as you. that might be the thread others were thinking about. but yeah, i think a name can be a deal breaker. you have to worry about things like family events, cards, etc etc where that name comes into play.

12/9/2008 10:55:55 AM
haha like if a girl had the same name as your grandma youd think she had an old lady name ^hahah no shit, sometimes i forget who i'm asking these questions to...]
12/9/2008 10:56:05 AM
Mom - Dad, I would like you to meet my new GirlFriend - Herpes MacDouchecunt.
12/9/2008 10:56:15 AM
i don't think i'd be able to hook up with some chick with the same name as my sisters/mom
12/9/2008 10:56:58 AM
I can't think of a situation where if I liked someone as a person I would refuse to date them because of their name. I dated someone with a weird name for a couple years and the weirdness goes away pretty fast.
12/9/2008 10:57:33 AM
haha, my grandmas are Gladys and Dorothy, so yeah, i probably wouldi know a few old women named Sadie and went to HS w/ a girl named sadie and didn't think of her as having an old lady name though[Edited on December 9, 2008 at 10:58 AM. Reason : also, my dog is named sadie ]
12/9/2008 10:57:53 AM
Nah it wouldn't be an issue for meI'd just never address them by their real name if I hated itI couldn't deal with calling someone I'm fucking Peggy...that name just screams obese soccer mom to meI'd just make up a nickname like P Jizzle or something cool like that
12/9/2008 10:59:47 AM
ha the girl i'm interested in right now has a slightly weird name
12/9/2008 11:00:15 AM
I actually know a very attractive and smart girl named Peggy. It kinda blows my mind.
12/9/2008 11:00:49 AM
actually, yeahnames are one of those things that really bother me if they don't "sound" nice to mesome names i like:1) dylan2) alex3) chase4) nathansome names i hate:1) betsy2) bob3) bryan (sorry burro )4) misty
12/9/2008 11:03:52 AM
mistys are always fat
12/9/2008 11:32:40 AM
girls like misty, crystal, traci, and other trailer trash names all look like this
12/9/2008 11:38:26 AM
both the mistys i know are weird as fuck, but not fat.
12/9/2008 11:39:20 AM
12/9/2008 11:40:04 AM
maybe a chick with an old lady name like constance or margaret or nancy
12/9/2008 11:41:13 AM
just like everyone named bobby and patel look like this:
12/9/2008 11:43:50 AM
Everyone called my 5th grade girlfriend MandyI reverted back to Amanda because I thought Mandy sounded manish
12/9/2008 11:47:35 AM
unusual names are pretty cool, but granny names / parent names would at the least earn her a disparaging nickname
12/9/2008 11:49:12 AM
What about unfortunate last names? In particular, from the female perspective, as it could leave you with a ridiculous name after marriage? Two that stand out in my mind as being pretty bad after marriage were my typing teacher in middle school, Sherell Ferrell (what are the odds considering that's a much more unusual spelling than the standard Cheryl) and a woman whose office computer I used to support, Carol Carroll.
12/9/2008 11:55:43 AM
