I'm trying to gauge whether I want to stay an extra day and go to my departmental graduation next week or not. What did yall think of graduation? Is it worth going to, or should I just skip it?

did you send out announcements?

that is really the only thing worth doing.

unless you want a picture in cap and gown getting a diploma (cover) and want to go for sentimental reasons (like when you're 50 so you can remember how amazing it was. and by amazing i mean boring).

also if you are in need of a "life lessons" speech, you could go.

graduation sucks... it's long and it's boring

it's MUCH more for your family than you

i am going to just the departmental graduation. My department is small and I know most of the people in it. Also, I do not have to wear a cap and gown. My family and my husband are going to come. I have gone to the departmental graduation in years past to see my friends graduate. it was fun.

I enjoyed my graduation. I went to both!

I just talked shit about the student speakers the whole time. My sister kept texting me shit like "WTF IS THIS BITCH SAYING?!?"

It was entertaining.

If your parents helped you through school and you think they'd be interested in going then you should probably consider it. If your family isn't coming then I don't really see any reason to go. It might really mean a lot to them even if it doesn't mean much to you.
