actually, its not against university policy if you go about it the right way. you can get out of your university housing contract if you find someone to replace you who wasnt living on campus before.

you don't have to find someone to replace you. you just tell them that you're leaving. and the OP doesn't mention how he's going about this, thus the reader must assume his intentions. I like to assume the worst. It's more fun that way.

If you are really interested all you have to do is buy out the rest of the contract. There is no fee attached however the only reason why we are forced to do this is because the housing contracts are legally binding for a full year. So in turn, what you are doing is subleasing our contracts meaning that you are paying the normal rate for the spring semester. TRUST ME we wouldnt be doing this if we didnt already talk to housing and just about every other important person on campus!
