Keep your health insurance. I let my health insurance briefly lapse after I graduated from college. I felt fine. Even saw the doctor one last time. Then I wake up one morning in so much pain that I was throwing up.Damned kidney stones cost me $8,000. Out of my own pocket.--Dude, my kid doesn't give a flying flip what he pisses on. It's my problem when his diaper leaks.[Edited on December 9, 2008 at 9:07 PM. Reason : .]

Well, I tried to get away with just going to Urgent Care. The doctor took one look at me as I barfed in the exam room trashcan and sent me to the ER.After $6,000, a diagnosis, and a prescription, I went home and took the medicine. I was allergic to the medicine and my husband had to rush me back to the ER for another $2,000.
