when I'm talking on the phone.I don't know why I do this. I just can't help it. I just start pacing and walking around as soon as I say "hello".Sometimes I'll end up in a completely different part of the house. This really started to get out of control when cordless phones came out. without that phone cord present to tether me to one spot, I'll just roam all over the damn place.I have a real problem, and I need help

I too, do this.I only do it with impromptu conversations that I'm not prepared for though.

I do this all the timeAt first it was just when I was talking to girl, maybe because it helped calmed my nerves or somethingBut now I do it almost all the timeWhen I sprained my ankle and was on crutches for a few weeks, I was incredibly unproductive

what's worse is I'll be sitting on the couch when the phone rings. I'll answer, STAND UP, and start walking....wtf EMCE?!
12/10/2008 10:36:56 AM
I,too, do this and actually go outside for maximal pacing
12/10/2008 10:37:23 AM
I do the same thing. I can't stop myself. Part of it is getting away from the TV or other people to have a clearer conversation but other times i dunno
12/10/2008 10:37:53 AM
IT'S A BOY!!!!!You can stop pacing now.

They actually teach this in a lot of sales training because it helps you think quicker on your feet.

^cool now I don't feel weird

Worst is when I'm talking in the phone while defacatingI'll get up and start walking and I inevitably end up tripping and falling due the the restrictions of my pants around my ankles, or just kicking them off completely and just walking around buttass[Edited on December 10, 2008 at 10:41 AM. Reason : this is at home...at work I usually putt or shoot baskets on my Nerf hoop]

I was talking on the phone last night with my mom. I started off in the office, and started running laps between the guestroom, bedroom, and bathroom.Didn't even realize what I was doing until I hear G yell from downstairs "STOP PACING!"part of me felt like a doofus. the other part of me wanted to go downstairs and punch her in the stomach.
12/10/2008 10:42:27 AM
this is actually one of the main reasons I opted for the 2 bedroom, for maximum pacing room
12/10/2008 10:43:35 AM
i do the exact same thing - especially when it's work related for some reason
12/10/2008 10:46:05 AM
I now know I'm not alone
12/10/2008 11:19:05 AM
at least you dont get up and forget why you went into the other room when you get there
12/10/2008 11:20:01 AM
You aint alone

I pretty much always get up and go outside and walk around, I don't know why. I wonder why it's so common?
12/10/2008 11:49:38 AM
I pace around as well. I'll also pace when I'm brushing my teeth.
12/10/2008 11:51:46 AM
let me up the ante...I do hand gestures the whole time while pacing.
