It's on the corner of Mint and Martin Luther King Jr.I don't know about Mint and 2nd. That might be on the other side of the building.^Mert's does look good but I was looking for a place with a bar I could sit at. I might try that tomorrow after the interview.[Edited on December 11, 2008 at 4:49 PM. Reason : yo]

Merts is awesome but make sure you go during a busy time. My wife and I went there one time during non peak hours and we were the only white folks in the place and the wait staff ignored us forever...

Dilworth Bar & Grille is fairly close to you.http://www.neighborhoodgrille.com/joomla/

Cosmos Cafe is decent too, but a bit pricey. It's kinda Tapas-y.

my bad, 2nd Street = MLKJmy advice to you is this: basically walk east on MLKJ towards downtown...when you get to Church Street (about 1-2 blocks from your hotel), take a left...there are a number of bars on Church between 3rd and say 8th...also the next two streets over parallel to Church (Tryon and College) also have a number of bars and restaurants between about 3rd and 8th streetsthere is a Stool Pigeon's at 6th and Church...there is a Fox and Hound at Tryon and 7th...there is a Cans at I think 5th and Graham (Graham is actually the other direction down MLKJ)those are 3 sports bars, but like i said, theres a ton of places in the College-3rd-Church-8th rectangle]

yeah I plan on walkingTreeTwista...who do you think has the best food out of those places you listed?
12/11/2008 4:50:37 PM
If you're heading over there, might as well hit up the Comet. It's a dive, but the food is excellent.
12/11/2008 4:51:40 PM
of those 3 places...eh...tough call...i'd say they're all a little better than average...but they at least have restaurant food, not just bar food
12/11/2008 4:52:43 PM
I'll probably just walk down to where Twist said and try one of those placesAny other suggestions?

City TavernWent there before monday night football...it was good.

I would watch the game at Black Finn. Huge sports bar in the epicentre (trade and college)..I would eat at ri ra's but they aren't a big sports bar place. Best sports bars are Black Finn, Hooters, Dixies, and Phil's.
