This sucks. I looked for it for two hours this morning with no luck. It's not in my car, condo, or in my pants pocket from yesterday.

I'm going to go home at lunchtime and search some more, and if no luck I guess I'll start calling the credit card companies and banks. Not to mention I probably had two or three hundred dollars in it

^ Yea, the last time I know I had it was yesterday afternoon. I've called american express and told them to keep an eye on it, but not to cancel in case I find it. So far no charges have shown up.

^even if he cancels that stuff tomorrow he'll get a new bank card pretty quickly, CC might be a little longer. (at least in my experience).

FTR I've never lost my wallet or credit cards. But once on spring break a bartender lost my card (though I didn't have to pay for my tab, hahaha)

i got a call from some guy late last night who said he found my wallet on the side of the road near boulevard and decatur st.

i went and picked it up today, and only my drivers license and georgia tech id were in there. no money, no credit cards, no insurance card, membership cards, no nothing

my cards were all canceled, but amex said they saw someone try to make a charge at foot locker at the west end mall.

i gave the guy a $25 reward. he looked like he hit the jackpot

i couldn't find my wallet once, went crazy trying to find it. i was looking up the phone numbers to call and cancel my cards, when i decided to look once again in my car. and i found it under the passenger side seat. i was sooo happy!

i did lose my checkbook once. never found it. did cancel that account and open a new one. the bank was nice and sent me new checks for free.

I seem to remember you getting mugged awhile back and losing $700 in cash or something.

Why the fuck do you carry so much cash around on you? You'd think someone with a PhD wouldn't be that stupid, especially after losing all that money once before.

Look if I have 10 grand in the bank and somebody steals 10 dollars, it isn't too bad of a hit, now is it?

The $800 was two-fold. 1) i was going on a trip where i wanted some cash, and 2) i needed some money to pay the maid. she likes being paid in cash, and i usually go to the bank once a month for her.

i normally hate carrying more than 50 or 100 with me, and much prefer using credit cards. im not sure how i accumulated so much this time.

Ok that makes more sense. I had the impression you were walking around with $texas for no apparent reason. Sorry to hear about losing your wallet...hope you get everything fixed up.

its all good. losing cash is exactly the reason why i use credit cards almost exclusively. i got replacement cards being mailed to me asap.
