Can't at mine, but could 15 years ago. It would definitely be a very big convenience.

we drink when we have parties or functions at the office. we drank just this week signing and mailing our office christmas cards. there's always wine just in case for that celebratory verdict or settlement

In my new job I frame commercial buildings (right now i'm building a suntrust bank for example). While I was building a Dollar General about a month ago the superintendent told me he wouldn't care if we drank while we framed. I would have but I don't think the walls would have been very straight.. especially considering some of them were about 130 feet long

Everyone can drink at work, but most people aren't supposed to.

Since I run/own my own business, I could drink, but I would never do it. I don't think clients would appreciate a drunken owner.

I can

if by "can" you mean "do"

and if by "do" you mean "get completely geschtonkenflapped"

no not really I would never do that

if by "do that" you mean "let ALE find out"

i remember sneaking vodka into work when I was a teenager. My friend and I would get a sprite and pour half of it out and go out to her van and fill it up with vodka. We got pretty fucked up a couple of times.

its unthinkable to me nowadays. but when i was like 16 to 23 or so working in restaurants I'd sometimes accidentally have a few too many and send out fucked up orders. this one asshole would come in every week and ask for a TWENTY OZ steak well done.
no matter what, he always commented that he would have liked it more done. so on 4th of july the place i was at *on lake gaston before it burned down*(the building, not the lake) was having it[s huge night of the year. boats and bands and parties ect. everybody was tipping a little. well homeboy comes in in the middle of peak hour and raises hell that he wants his usuall table and orders his steak. I cut him a slice of rib endpiece the size of a workboot and threw that bitch on the grill and forgot about it. like thirty-fourtyfive minutes later the waitress is like "wtf" i was all like "LOL here" and plated up his twenty five dollar slice of tire. he actually said it was worth the wait because it was the most delicous thing he'd ever eaten

Every Friday, about 3:30 or so, our happy hour (or longer) at work commences. We have a small lounge (one of the larger office rooms) with tables and a bar and barstools and a stocked liquor cabinet. All the office folks kick back with a cold one and chill. It's pretty damn cool.

This friday, however, I was inundated with lots of work to do. So they drank and I nibbled off the party platters and hammered out proposals.

we found a really old budweiser bottle in a hole up around the penthouse on top of one of the units at the plant in goldsboro this summer. some of the old timers were telling stories about occasionally bringing a keg into the control room back in the 70s. you'll never see that again.

at the store i work at the owners sometimes buy us beer (on like long busy days, like the CV sidewalk sale this summer...dear god). and we get to take little breaks and go in the back and chug. but that isn't really drinking because we have to sneak

and chew lots of gum since it is a children's store and alcohol breath is a no no.

I can't drink at work because I am usually armed and they don't like it when you drink and carry a gun.

We do this. Every Friday at 3:30 the taps open up. We have 3 kegerators with 2 taps each. Usually a few hundred people drinking on any given Friday.
