the time has finally arrived for me to switch back to road runner. knowing that they have tried to renew

my contract every time i have called to complain that their internet service is terrible, i have attempted

to contact them today. their phone service is closed on weekends so i attempt the live chat. im not sure

what they are there for, considering the fact that if my internet wasnt working, i would not be able to

chat with them in the first place.

Jo-Lee Jamison [7:26:39 PM]: Welcome to our real-time support chat. I'll be happy to help you today.

aaron [7:26:39 PM]: canceling service

Jo-Lee Jamison [7:26:48 PM]: May I have the phone number associated with your account please?

aaron [7:27:01 PM]: 919-272-69**

Jo-Lee Jamison [7:28:12 PM]: Thank you. One moment, please, while I research that for you.

Jo-Lee Jamison [7:28:29 PM]: If you are unable to keep our service, and are the account holder, please contact our Account Services department at 888-253-2794 M-F between 6am PST/9am EST to 8pm PST/11pm EST. They will send you a UPS label via email to return the equipment if leased (at no cost to you). The equipment must be returned and restocked before accounts are canceled. Please do not return equipment to the store, as this will slow down the cancellation process.

aaron [7:30:24 PM]: okay, well my contract ends tomorrow, and will be billed at midnight. your office wont open until monday

Jo-Lee Jamison [7:31:56 PM]: The account is not considered canceled until the equipment is returned. Any money owed will be refunded upon cancellation.

aaron [7:33:13 PM]: so it takes a week or longer to cancel service? can i not just take the thing to a clearwire store?

Jo-Lee Jamison [7:34:36 PM]: The store is instructed not to accept returns. I do apologize. It does need to be returned to us.

aaron [7:34:42 PM]: so can you not stop the billing tomorrow?

Jo-Lee Jamison [7:35:47 PM]: I do not have the ability to do so. The billing can only stop upon closing the account and returning the equipment.

aaron [7:36:00 PM]: ridiculous

Jo-Lee Jamison [7:36:29 PM]: Is there anything else that I can assist you with today?

aaron [7:37:14 PM]: can you note my account that i have attempted to end service, so that i am not automatically rolled into a new contract?

Jo-Lee Jamison [7:37:56 PM]: When the contract ends, you are put on a month to month. I will notate that you are calling Monday to cancel.

aaron [7:38:07 PM]: thanks, thats all i guess

basically they want people to pay for a week of service you are unable to use/blog bitching

I actually have Mr Grace to thank for helping me avoid the Clearwire mistake. I was considering getting Clearwire until I read his first thread about how much of a pain in the ass they were.

I had Clearwire for about a year before I moved. No complaints.

^^^dude i am glad i could help

just called to cancel-again

they asked why and i replied, "its terrible, it wont work with magic jack and it costs more than other services."

the bitch then asks me if i have a friend or family that would be interested in my modem. "no"

she then has the nerve to ask if i am familiar with craigslist

i told her i had no desire to sell their products for them.

what the fuck is that shit? they dont even send me a box. i get to print a label from ups, find a fucking box, box it up and deliver it to a ups store. once they receive and process it they will cancel my account, and possibly even refund my checking account that they billed last night-even though i attempted to stop them saturday.

worst "service" ever

best part, "welcome to clearwire, where we make things simple"
