Just a few days left, how was '08 for you?

For the past few years each year had been better than the last. Unfortunately this year was an exception. I give it a 5/10.

Good to bad to awful to worse to recovering to OK to bad to uncertain.

4/10.

We'll see if the rest of december sucks or ends up being better.

one of the best years i've had since 2004. 2005, 2006, and 2007 were terrrrrible.

it's nice to be happy again.

a good portion of this year sucked...house was broken in to, dad diagnosed with prostate cancer, a shit ton of family drama (ohhhh the drama), and a good friend killed himself.

but there were really great moments too...my birthday was awesome, i LOVE my new job, finally went to NYC, justin and I got engaged , three of my friends are expecting, and the family drama is getting better by the day

as usual...can't appreciate the good without that bad. despite the suck, i wouldn't change 2008 one bit.

except for my friend...i wish he was still here.

started off very bad with me totaling my car, and taking 18 credit hours in my last semester of classes and aksnoopy getting evicted... in may it started getting better(moved)...end of june to end of august was pretty flat...not bad but not particularly great(had a shitty unpaid internship), beginning of sept for a week it went way crappy, and then from like sept 5---->now its been better(internship->job, graduation, new old car, etc)...i'd give this year a 7 or 7.5...i've learned more about myself and life this year than definitely any prior year, but you cant really quantify stuff like that into a 1-10 rating

had a happy healthy baby, best year of my life!

here's to next year being even better. the kid should get more and more fun to play with and I'll graduate and get a job and finally have some free time again.

Thats b/c I moved back to Raleigh

This year has had some of my life's biggest ups and downs! I had a bad ski accident and was laid off from my job. But I also took some awesome trips (CO & HI) and got a better job and moved back to NC. I also bought my first new car (finally a sports car!) in 9 years. I spent all summer unemployeed, which had pros and cons. Definitely a good year, better than 2007 I think.

It was pretty good, nothing spectacular happened. I made a few new friends and last week I put down the deposit on a house. I feel estranged from my family, something I'm not sure I want to go to trouble and heartache of fixing.

Time for an '09 turnaround ...

Nothing short of incredible

It started off kind of shitty - didn't get a job I realllllllllllly wanted, and broke up with my bf.
Then we got back together, took an epic (for us) road trip, had a good, but boring, rest of the year, and then got engaged.

But since I also recall a good many unpleasant/bad things, it's possible that my unreasonable happiness is tainting things again

Maybe not the best year of all time, but not bad and much better than 2007 overall. It's also gotten progressively better as the year has progressed, so I'm thankful.

I guess like most of you guys, i have had some ups and downs this past year:

- Went to Colorado twice:
- Poster Presentation in Denver for the IETS and snowboarding with the brothers
- March: snowboarding with the brothers and had a blast with my best friend and love at Winter Park

- Spent a confusing semester saving as much money as I could and finishing up my Masters (thanks Dr. Advisor )

- Graduated with my Masters

- Spent an agonizing summer trying to find a job
- Found a job at UNC that paid the bills and only the bills

- Found a different job at NCSU (closer to home , paid a heela lot more , open opportunities for a PhD , nicer, more communicative boss , and better experiences )

- My grandfather was diagnosed with bone cancer and is in a lot of pain.
- Going to CO for Christmas to see the ENTIRE family! and we're going snowboarding
- Back in time to spend an awesome New Year with my love

I have to say that this past year was very interesting especially having my best friend with me the entire way and having his support. I couldn't have made it through the year without him. I hope that this coming year will open up more opportunity for experience and I'll be able to pass that darn biochem class in fall when I start my PhD... After that class its smooth sailing for my PhD with late nights in the lab...

Romance-wise it sucked... took forever to get over my ex and now I've managed to only date losers the rest of the year.

Everything else has been awesome. Started grad school, lost 20lbs, my sis got engaged (which means I don't have to listen to her bitch anymore), and I've just been enjoying life...when I'm not stressing about the idiot I'm dating at the time, which has managed to suck a lot of joy out of things.

overall.... 6.0
