I do, but I don't really use it/know anything about it.

My dad just hands me a card every year and that's it. I think he gets it for free from his work and he just puts my whole family on the list

i do...i use it probably once a year, usually for a friend (because AAA goes with the person, not the car, so if you call them up and say your "ride" is broken down or whatever, they'll tow your friend for you, as long as you're with them)

I am, but I'm not sure what I can help you with. The one thing I do know is the way I got a discount in the "promo code" is click 'what's this?'. Once it shows you an example, us that example and WALA - Discount

I have the upgraded service, gold or plus or whatever its called.

Definitely has been a worthwhile investment/insurance against small stuff

Use it a couple times a year.

Lemme know if you need some help or info

yeah, parents pay for the platinum service or whatever and i got my dad to add me onto their membership

it comes in handy when your battery dies in the middle of the night because you left something on... or if you lock your keys in your car... or you need to be towed somewhere...

but i wouldn't pay cash money for it.

It took me way too long to figure out what you meant.
I kept trying to come up with reasonable, applicable phrases for which WALA would stand.

^^^^,^^^ we had a gold membership that included a 100 mile tow once a year. We got stuck in a storm on Big Bear Mtn. one year, got sloshed, and got towed to San Diego fo free.

i have a friend who used to do this

only thing is, you can only have like 1-2 people cause you have to ride inside the tow truck

i use them to change my tires most of the time (cause my jack in the truck is busted, and I routinely end up having to have them pump up the spare anyway)

that, and if I'm gonna pay for it, why not use it?

my little brother and his friends used to abuse the fuck out of AAA... and out in the country where we lived, there's basically one or two AAA driver guys. and they hated those kids. always having to bring gas and unlock cars and jumpstart cars and all that crap.

funny stuff, abusing AAA

my wife and i got really drunk at a friend's house (along with pretty much everyone else there) and laid the car keys on the counter...

she needed something out of the car, couldn't find the keys, in plain view, on the counter and decided to call AAA to get them to unlock the car. five minutes later, someone found the keys and the only sober person had to call the towing company back and tell them not to bother coming all the way out to BFE to unlock the car.

got what i needed

thanks SO MUCH guys for the help, really do appreciate it.

and continue with AAA stories.

we used my brothers when he had it like 4 years ago on my truck, had to tow it back from Raleigh to Goldsboro.

I got the luxury of riding with the driver...he was batshit crazy...flying down the road, flicking off cars, running them out of their lane. dude was crazy...and then proceeded to tell me about his gf and how SHE was psycho.

I hated that ride.

We've got that upgraded service. I've used it a couple of times when I've locked my keys in the car and for when my car died back in high school for towing. Oh, and just a little while ago cause I parked on a hill and didn't have enough gas to start

I think the best use of AAA has been when me and my mom were about and hour and half away from home and an hour and a half to our destination with our truck pulling my horse in the horse trailer. I'm sleeping in the passenger seat when all of a sudden she starts beating my arm, screaming "The truck's on fire, the truck's ON FIRE!"

There's smoke BILLOWING from the engine. My mom pulls over. There is oil ALL over the trailer. The truck had blown a few oil seals. Now, AAA could help the truck get home, but could do NOTHING about the horse and the horse trailer. We're on an interstate, cars blowing by - there's no way in hell we can take a horse out here. A friend lets my dad drive her truck up to us, we push our truck away from the trailer, hook up the trailer to the friends truck. Its night time by now, and of course the connection for the lights doesn't reach the truck. Poor horse, who was claustrophic, had to stay in the trailer for about six hours. And since the premium membership has like, 175 miles towing or whatever, we didn't pay a dime to AAA, but did give our friend gas money and a huge Christmas gift that year.

I used my friend's AAA card in high school one time. The tow truck driver asked me if I was the person on the card and I said yes. Then he asked if the address on the card was correct and I said yes. Then he asked why I was getting my truck towed to some completely unrelated address which I said was my home. I stuttered for a couple of seconds and then told him that this was my dad's house and I live with my mom. I'm 90% sure he knew I was bullshitting him, but I'm sure he also knew he would get paid as long as he didn't ask too many more questions.
