How come I always hear/see ads for cars to be bought around christmas. How many people actually give/recieve cars as a gift? Thats a huge expense.

dealers want as many cars off the lot by new years day as possible because they have to pay taxes on all the cars they still own come the new year. This is their last big push for the year. My mom bought a new car a few years ago on New Years Eve in the late afternoon and got a helluva deal

I got a car for Christmas when I turned 16 my senior year of highschool- in hindsight, i liked my first vehicle more though


think about it- if you are going to have to buy someone in your family a car anyway, you might as well knock out several gifts while you're at it
