and wake up at 7pm freaking out thinking it's 7ami rushed outside to take out the trash and recycling worried that it might not get picked up on time. then i brewed a pot of coffee. took me until I turned the TV on to realize that it was still Wednesday night
12/17/2008 8:10:41 PM
dumbass
12/17/2008 8:12:09 PM
it always freaks me out when I take a nap and wake up to darkness
12/17/2008 8:13:07 PM
I think that has happened to me like twice. And boy o boy does it suck.
12/17/2008 8:16:11 PM
12/17/2008 8:16:50 PM
It's even worse when you wake up at like 8 on a Saturday morning, look at the clock, and start to freak out.I actually grabbed my phone and called my office once to let them know I was running late before I realized it was Saturday
12/17/2008 8:21:58 PM
^
12/17/2008 8:23:49 PM
it makes for funny conversation when everyone hears that frantic voicemail on Monday morning.
12/17/2008 8:27:12 PM
my parents used to do this to me at least once a year, wake me up on a holiday or saturday or something all paniced like I overslept and so Id scramble around and get all ready for school and rush out the door then they would laugh and come up with something productive for me to do now that I was awake like cut the grass or some shit
12/17/2008 9:01:39 PM
12/17/2008 9:03:08 PM
i've done this before, made breakfast, packed a lunch, got a shower, and went to worksee it's not really that out of the ordinary for me to pass out drunk at random places so i've gotta get into the "get ready for work mode" in pretty much autopilot
12/17/2008 9:03:59 PM
yes, I hate this
12/17/2008 9:05:54 PM
aaaaaaaaaahahhahahahah I did the same shit Sunday
12/17/2008 9:06:54 PM
12/17/2008 9:07:13 PM

12/17/2008 9:48:34 PM
12/17/2008 10:29:33 PM
almost as bad as taking a nap before going out, and then waking up at 2am and the nights over.
12/17/2008 10:30:07 PM
I love naps, even when this happens.
12/17/2008 10:36:48 PM
OP: That happened to my mom once and she thought she was late for her job and that it was the fault of my brother and me. We were subsequently hit, because parents were still allowed to discipline children.Good times!
12/17/2008 10:42:07 PM
seriously guys, who does this? we are in our 20's
12/17/2008 10:46:58 PM
12/17/2008 10:48:17 PM
yeah, I've done that beforeI woke up and it was dark. I looked at the clock, and saw 7:00. Seeing how I went to sleep earlier in the day drunk, I naturally assumed that it was 7:00AM instead of 7:00PM. I I jumped out of bed, got a shower, got my clothes on, and rushed out of the door by 7:25.I was in my car driving out of my apartment complex before I realized it was getting DARKER outside instead of LIGHTER.I felt relieved....but I also felt so silly
12/17/2008 10:52:09 PM
I don't take naps because usually they last longer than I expect and I am frequently temporally disoriented when I awake.
12/17/2008 10:57:14 PM
this is why I use military time
12/17/2008 10:58:45 PM
My car's clock is in military time, but my phone doesn't seem to support it...
12/17/2008 11:03:57 PM
I remember my freshman year I was fresh out of boot and had a class at 7:00 I thought it was a.m. and went to class early and then I figured it out such a noob!
12/17/2008 11:07:32 PM
when i was in high school i went to bed early at about 7 pm because i was feeling sick. i woke up about 10 or 11 pm and my mom was doing laundry and i asked her what was for breakfast
12/17/2008 11:07:45 PM
^^^^ me too.[Edited on December 17, 2008 at 11:08 PM. Reason : .]
12/17/2008 11:07:57 PM
This is why I use metric time. I will go to bed in 100.1 minutes.
12/17/2008 11:08:02 PM
Naps are awesome, except when shit like this happens.
12/17/2008 11:08:45 PM
At least when shit like that happens after a nap, you're not as cranky.
12/17/2008 11:09:33 PM
this has never happened to me! i'm a HUGE fan of naps and take probably 2-3 a week. i have certainly overslept from a nap and done the weekend freak out thing when i see the clock thinking its a weekday. i have even woken up on a work day and thought it was a weekendbut i have never woken up at night thinking it was morning and actually got ready for work...
12/17/2008 11:16:48 PM
I used to take naps. I still do; but I used to, too.

nerds
12/17/2008 11:23:37 PM
There was a period during college that I had a real bad oversleeping problem. I once feel asleep at 6 or 7pm in my apt and when I woke I thought I was actually viewing the sun rising for the first time in a while and surprised to find one of my roommates was up watching TV. Still groggy, I was then informed by my roommate it was actually the sun setting the next day. I have never slept that long at once in my life.
12/17/2008 11:41:51 PM
naps make me more tired thus i tend to stay away from them unless a piece of ass is involved
12/18/2008 12:29:01 PM
^^ You, sir, have a serious drug or alcohol problem. I've never slept that long, not even after being awake for days on end.
12/18/2008 12:39:10 PM
more like depression problem
12/18/2008 12:39:43 PM
naps are so emo
12/18/2008 12:41:24 PM
I find that my best naps are only 15-30 minutes long, any longer than that I wake up groggy and just want to go back to sleep
12/18/2008 12:41:36 PM
yeah i usually take a nap every day, and the best ones are about 45 minutes long(time judged by me falling asleep with the DVR on and waking up as the show repeats)
12/18/2008 12:46:32 PM
I've never had this problem. I've woken up and not known what day it was, but I always quickly figure it out. Plus my alarm is only set to go off on weekdays, never the weekend. Now there was this one time in college, where around 5am after a party on the weekend we woke up one of the brothers that was passed out and convinced him he was late for class. He got dressed, put shit in his backpack, ran into and broke a few things b/c he was drunk, and then took off to catch the bus. Definitely worth the laughs
12/18/2008 12:56:51 PM
12/18/2008 1:05:20 PM
I'm really wondering about some of you people.
12/18/2008 1:07:26 PM
Saw a video on Youtube where a kid takes a nap after his first day of football practice or something, his dad wakes him up after 8 and tells him he slept all day and night and missed the bus.Kid showers and gets dressed and gets in the car with his dad, who is trying hard not to laugh the whole time, and they make it half way to school before the kid realizes what's happening.
12/18/2008 1:14:20 PM
hahaha at the original post.and yeah, this happens to me often. I end up falling asleep to CNN in the late late afternoons and freak out when I wake up and it's like 11pm.
12/18/2008 1:23:18 PM
^^he realized he was getting kidnapped
12/18/2008 1:24:35 PM
