"Good morning. AMP had positive results at the last zoning meeting on the 15th. The Planning Commission tabled the decision for 30 days to review the newly submitted application. We took this as a positive action by them, they could have declined the application based on the presentation but declined to vote based on the resubmitted revised application a few days before the meeting and to review their notes.

I need to ask for your support again, I have listed NEW e-mail addresses below that were not on the last e-mail list of the actual planning board- PLEASE TAKE ACTION NOW, TODAY and send this e-mail.

You are welcome to just RESEND your first e-mail with the new date.

The council’s main concern was: Noise: (People thought it was like the noise of a NASCAR which is (140 DB at peak times) we will cap the noise at 103 DB at AMP.

Second, We need your support, BOTH via e-mail or in person at the follow up zoning hearing, at 7:00 PM, Monday, January the 26th and Monday February 2nd at Dawsonville City Hall/Racing Hall of Fame. See below for directions to the meeting.

What should I say? Explain, in your own terms and feelings – not mine, the support/opinion of Atlanta Motorsports Park and the positive effects of this development by the approval of zoning for Motorsports Park. How you believe it will serve a major need in the driving community, restrict noise levels, help drive revenue, create jobs, and keep motorsports alive in Dawsonville –what ever you would like to or feel led to mention. Please title the subject line something like – Please approve Atlanta Motorsports Park…

the main purpose of this wasn't about noise. it was just to inform you all about the new road course in development and to make a thread to track the progress....no pun intended

I have nothing against new road courses being built. But doesn't Atlanta already have a super nice road course? Why not build it some where else

5+ hours away its really exciting (not really sure how far atlanta is).

we've got world class 1 hour north. and national tracks within 3 hours south, 2.5 hours southwest, and 1.5 hours west

i'm all about it. but im not gonna be sending emails left and right.

I could care less, this track is too far away for me...however if they allow S2000s to run without rollcages, hehe, then I might be more interested

Lowes motorspeedway and rockingham.

soon to have the high rock one (not sure what the update is on that one).

do the roll bars/cages have to be weld in? can you get a bolt in one and still get on these tracks. i would imagine so, but sticklers nowadays wanna be safe.

if so, get http://www.killercustoms.net to fab you up a bolt in bar.

^^ah yeah, i always forget about those two. the walls kinda freak me out...not sure if I'd want to do a track day there. also, do they have any motorcycle events there? they didn't last time I was looking.

^they're all gonna be far as shit from new bern/morehead city.

From everything I've heard, that bar is absolutely for show, will not take the weight of the car at all and is pretty much less effective than the stock hoops at protecting you Also, most tracks won't accept it anyways since it doesn't meet SCCA regs.

http://www.bethania-garage.com/s2000.htm

Hard Dog is really the only cage manufacturer with a predesigned bar that meets SCCA specs for the S2000. You can even somewhat keep your interior, although it keeps the harness bar too high and negates some of the safety of a bar to begin with.

Personally I plan to strip the interior on my S2000 eventually, take out the stock hoops, and install a Hard Dog bar. But that's gonna have to wait until after my fiancee and I get married and move to wherever her residency is, and can actually afford to track my car

yah, forgot bout roebling rd. that was about 4.5-5 hours from here.

yeah, that was the first thing that popped up when i searched s2000 roll bar.

i figured something could be fabricated for a fraction of the price, but who knows how much interior you can save or so.

^^, the walls are the best part. going 130mph 5 ft from a similar wall that killed Sr., and not to mention driving on a legendary track like lowes where cars with millions of HP drive on.

it was just a good feeling and a big adrenaline rush... the infield is also fun.
