dpreview.com is all you'll ever need for digital cameras.
Looks alright to me, but I'm also merely skimming, dog tired, and don't know what you'll want your camera to do. 12/19/2008 2:58:54 AM

i like dpreview.com... but i wouldn't say its all you will ever need. its always good to get multiple opinions.
I personally have never had very good experiences with the pentax digital cameras. maybe some of the dslrs but not the point and shoots. and 12mp on a tiny sensor... waaaaay overboard and would probably do more hurt than help.
with that said... its only 120 bucks... it could suck and still probably be worth the investment. 12/19/2008 8:07:08 AM

$130 for an HD camcorder is pretty solid. I just bought one. Granted, it's only 720 but good enough for me 1/21/2009 12:04:50 PM

^^ wait until the dual-core ones come out...and stay away from anything smaller than 10"
at least, that's my take on it...i realize the procs in those things aren't meant to do much, but the new dual-core intel atom procs use less 90% less power and do more (including playing HD content and supporting DDR3 memory)...and anything less than 10" is difficult to type on
that said, the new ones won't cost less than $200 so it's like comparing oranges and grapefruit...close, but not the same thing ![](images/beatup.gif)

^^ the new dual-core atom procs that are supposed to be used with intel's new moorestown platform are supposed to use 0.2w instead of 2w (too many supposed to's in there, i know )
i'll see if i can find the exact article, but here's some basic info on moorestown: http://www.umpcportal.com/2009/06/intels-moorestown-platform-from-smartphone-through-smartbook-and-beyond
at the very least, an nvidia ion board with a dual-core atom supports DDR3, which is my goal ![](images/spin.gif)
