System Specs:
Celeron E1200 (1.6 GHz) 4GB of PC6400 NVidia GeForce 7100 GPU / nForce 630i
Plenty of hard drive space.
Wondering which OS you guys personally feel would be best. Mostly running Office Ultimate 2007, iTunes, and Safari 12/23/2008 5:14:45 PM |

^^I've got 4 gb installed in Vista32. It recognizes 4gb, but for ram usage it only recognizes 3.5 gb. My video card is using the other 0.5gb 12/23/2008 7:14:17 PM |

my 32bit vista install is only showing 3 of the 4 gb.

^^ Ever since SP1 the system properties will recognize all 4 GB's (I also have 4 GB and before SP1 it showed 3.5).
If you install a 3rd party widget/gadget that shows the ram usage it will only show the 3.5 GB and can only use the 3.5 GB.
I noticed this too...sees it and shows it in system properties but still can't use it (because as you know it's a limitation on hardware). 12/24/2008 10:52:07 PM |

I'm not doing anything that requires more power than a Celeron, in fact, I was trying to find a single core system (for power purposes).
This isn't my primary computer, I am using it mostly for Outlook and iTunes hosting (main purpose).
Good to hear the feedback on the Vista 64-Bit, I'm going to try it without a PCI-e graphics card and see how the GeForce 7100 holds up. 12/25/2008 1:11:25 PM |

i hate that i made the mistake of not getting 64bit vista on my machine when i ordered it. it sucks when the system can't utilize the 4bg of ram in it.
now i gotta format, reinstall. boooooooo 12/25/2008 3:18:21 PM |
