I've heard it's kinda lame because the arena is small, but I haven't been to a monster truck show since the 1985/86 school year when I was living in Cary and they came to the fairgrounds. How long does the show last and what does it include? How long are the breaks between events?

i went in hampton which was a similar sized arena when i was like 15.

Its kinda lame because they go about 75 feet, jump a stack and first one to finish the jump wins. and the "freestyle" was pretty weak because they have no room to operate

all in all it lasted about two hours. they usually have motocross or something during the intermission. I mean if you have never been, go, but dont go in with high expectations

It's too bad they don't do like at UTEP where they fill the football stadium with dirt. It would kick ass if it was at Carter Finley. I guess you probably need astroturf though.

yeah they make it look decent on tv by having it at football sized stadiums. its just way too small to have in the RBC center.

If you are really interested in seeing monster trucks, i'd suggest waiting til they have their show in Charlotte in august at the dirt track there. I have never been but heard good things and the admission is the same as it will be at the RBC

^There are Youtube videos of the Charlotte show in the Bobheels arena. I can't believe they couldn't have this in Durham at Duke. They have a track that makes the field area wider than any of the other local stadiums. Besides, if all of that dirt kills the WWS grass, no one will care because it's Duke Football.

well the one i am talking about it at the dirt track at lowes.

get emails about it all the time since we are a season ticket holder for the sprint cup races.

They have like 8-10 trucks and have a 4/10 of a mile track to basically do the same shit you see on tv

its a different organization but bigfoot shows up and a lot of the ushra trucks show up and they still have racing and free style and like a demolition derby during the intermission

^Thanks, I probably won't go though. I'm not into it all that much. I just enjoy watching it, if I happen to see it on speed channel.

look, if you don't like remote control cars that do 50mph, then first:

I'll call into question your manhood

then, second:

I'll call into question your patriotism

No, it's not worth going. I got dragged there three times by friends despite me telling them that it's horrible. It's mostly crappy trucks. Most of the good ones don't show up. The races are 1.6 seconds long. It's literally like the guy who gets a 1.45 second run is going to win. It's lame. The half time show is always the best part.

I mean, I'll go if I have friends who want to go, but only because I want to hang out with my friends. Other than that there is really no reason to go unless you have kids. I'm sure it is more exciting for them.

seriously the remote control cars are awesome.

the whole nc vs sc ATV race is gay as hell though its so fake.
i dont really like the monster trucks either as soon as the get up to speed they have to slam on brakes b/c RBC is too small for them.

^^My brother inlaw got a $300 RC car last Christmas. He doesn't have it anymore because it could go up to 50 mph and drive a quarter mile away and return. It flipped because he didn't have a wheely bar on it.
