Actually parents bought on ebay (hence I can't just return it), but good to know. I saw similar on there for like $999. My parents got it for less though... So... any offers? I don't need surround sound in an apartment (I could care less honestly).

So are these really shitty speakers? I've read the forums with some mixed reviews... I'd hate for my parents to have gotten scammed over this.

Without knowing exactly what connectors it has on it, i'd say they're probably not worth $100.

If your parents paid any more than that, they very likely got scammed.

If it does in fact have a dolby digital decoder though, then $100 would be worth it.

In any case, that brand of speaker exists for the sole purpose of scamming people, and are not worth ANYWHERE NEAR the $3k printed on the box.

It's amazing how whenever I see "Surround Sound System" posted in classifieds I typically assume yet another person has fallen victim to speaker scams

Wow... just wow. No offense, but are your parents new to the Internet? I mean, who drops $500 on something they know nothing about, especially on E-bay. saw the white van people the other day harassing some people at food lion on Avent Ferry the other day when i was loading some groceries. went up to kangaroo after that to get gas and they had gone up there and were harassing some lady. as i was walking up to the van to tell them to fuck off a cop pulls up to get gas and they got scared off, so i just went up to the lady and informed her of the white van speaker scam. did my civic duty that day
