So I started watching this movie on Thanksgiving. Made it through the first 15 minutes or so and I couldn't get in to it so I cut it off. But its raining and this is one of the few movies in my collection that I haven't watched. Well now I'm in about 30 minutes or so and I still can't get in to it. I heard it was really good though so I'm trying....

So tell me folks...

Does it get better and will I be thankful I made it through the slow start or am I better off chalking up the last 30 minutes of my life as a loss and watching the SVU marathan on USA instead?

When I saw this movie I had no idea what it was about. I just knew it had Ben Stiller in it. That's probably the best way to see Tropic Thunder since you have no preconceived notions of what the movie should be

Tropic Thunder sucked donkey balls. I'd rather stare at the wall. The funniest parts were in the first 5 minutes.... It went off a cliff beyond that.....

I just finished watching this movie and really liked it a lot. Cruise and Downey Jr. put forth fantastic work. Nolti and McBride are also amazing in this movie.

What I found most interesting, despite the acting heroics, is the satire of having a white man play a lead black role. It could have gone far, and Downey could have ended up with an Oscar Nod. However, Jack Black's role was too distracting, and it should have been shortened or completely cut.
