1/2/2009 10:04:07 PM

1/2/2009 10:08:50 PM
Went to Cary about 7ish or so, and there was a bad t-bone wreck on Tryon and Dilliard. Truck/SUV was turning right on Dilliard, and for some reason, a car was facing Tryon in that lane. Weird.
1/2/2009 10:09:37 PM
Ok after Ladder 20 on scene initially said that there was no pin-in now there is a repage for another EMS Unit. This call gets more interesting by the moment.
1/2/2009 10:16:49 PM

1/2/2009 10:17:24 PM
^^^Heard that one as well. Just down the road from me as I am off Jones Franklin.[Edited on January 2, 2009 at 10:18 PM. Reason : yo]
1/2/2009 10:17:48 PM
saw it when I went to the gas station....updates?
1/2/2009 11:12:33 PM
BTTT
1/2/2009 11:50:22 PM
^^Sorry no update from me...I got distracted listening to a situation on one of the RPD Investigative Talkgroups/Channels then had a few phone calls to take care of...the wreck kinda fell off my radar...I do hope anyone involved is ok...too much to monitor and never enough ears is my predicament
1/2/2009 11:54:31 PM
Link to the thread with the radar?
1/2/2009 11:55:04 PM
^No radar but 9 radios on at the moment so that should count for something
1/2/2009 11:57:39 PM
technically speaking, they don't count as RADAR until you're listening with them on microwave frequencies to time the delayed echo of a klystron or magnetron pulse [Edited on January 3, 2009 at 12:01 AM. Reason : lulz]
1/2/2009 11:59:22 PM
^ Wake Counties partnership with NCSHP "VIPER" on 800Mhz for comms is close enough to microwave BTW: Raleigh PD Investigative Tac 1 FTW...surveillance underway in an undisclosed location in Ral
1/3/2009 12:03:21 AM
no dead tke's no care
1/3/2009 12:11:12 AM
Dammit, I just seem to remember some thread where we could eavesdrop on the police frequency.
1/3/2009 12:11:39 AM
there was a website where these scanner guys have their scanners on various VoIP softwares, I bet KE4ZNR can give you the link
1/3/2009 12:13:22 AM
Yep, heard another siren.
1/3/2009 12:14:09 AM

^ The one feed that focused just on Raleigh PD/Wake County Sheriff has gone away...there is another guy who has a feed but his feed is in my view to scattered...his setup has everything from Raleigh PD to TTA Buses to RDU Aircraft to Durham Police...kinda all over the map...if don't mind narrowing your choice down to Fire/EMS then there is Scan Wake County:http://wake.nc.scanamerica.us/index.phpGranted the above link is for Fire/Rescue only...but the site has a DVR like archive feature where you can listen to scanner audio in the past:http://wake.nc.scanamerica.us/modules.php?name=FeedArchiveIf nothing else maybe this clip will be entertaining...it is from the chase last fall (8/5/08)Raleigh PD had with an armed robbery suspect through downtown Raleigh...end up shooting the guy and sending him to hospital...enjoy the audio!http://ncviper800.googlepages.com/080805_-_Radio_Traffic_from_10-80.mp3
1/3/2009 12:24:25 AM
Durham Police sounds amusing"suspect is a black male ..."
1/3/2009 12:27:12 AM
i keep meaning to see if there's a way to control my motorola radio via pc so i could put up a feed straight off of that... i also keep forgetting to do so know of any, marshall? or do you happen to have an 800mhz scanner i can buy off of you so i don't have to go dragging my motorola HT out of my car each time i want to listen? for some reason i can't convince them that i need a second $5,000 radio
1/3/2009 12:35:41 AM
^if it is one of the XTS5K's then that radio can only handle upload/download and not be computer controlled. And I have lots of radios plus 800Mhz Scanners it just depends on who or what I want to monitor at the moment
1/3/2009 12:47:18 AM
yup, it's an XTS5000, the one with the keypadwhat a shame if you ever want to sell one of those 800mhz digital scanners, lemme know
1/3/2009 12:49:55 AM
just heard a report of a pin-in... is that the buffalo road wreck?
1/3/2009 12:52:12 AM
^BTW: if your radio is charged switch over to Wake Mutual Aid 5...Wake & Granville Counties working a structure fire together. VIPER has made communicating in Central NC alot easier
1/3/2009 12:53:18 AM
Although I will admit sometimes it feels like there are too many dang channels/talkgroups...kinda tough to remember which talkgroup is in which zone
1/3/2009 1:07:11 AM
lol yeahthe radios are too fucking expensive though, we need at least 2 for NCSU EMS and we have no money to get them, haha
1/3/2009 1:14:41 AM
well shit...
1/3/2009 1:23:26 AM
1/3/2009 3:38:43 AM
actually the ' is probably appropriate there as the E is an abbreviationat least, thats what i've always figuredthe ' would be appropriate if it were t.k.e.'sthe ' is not necessary for TKEsgrammar, in general, frowns upon lowercase abbreviations[Edited on January 3, 2009 at 3:47 AM. Reason : the more you know]
1/3/2009 3:44:48 AM
Glad I missed the wreck in the OP, had to have missed it by like 5 or 10 minutes. Saw 2 or 3 ambulances and a firetruck heading down Glenwood downtown at like 2:30 while we were cleaning up.
