I was running the other day and had the techno remix to "Our God is an Awesome God" on repeat and averaged .61 miles every time it played

lol is that your power song?

and about the battery, its supposed to have a 1000 hour battery life and its only active when the sensor is in motion and its ipod receiver is on

sensors are $20, and even if they lasted half as long as they say, thats a replacement MAYBE every 2 years?? depending on how often you work out. i work out about 4-5 days a week for an hour and half

everyone I know that's had one has had to replace either the receiver or the sensor within 6 months

it only works with nanos and 2nd gen ipod touch

well i'm not going to let a $20 sensor keep me from it. im really enjoying it and if i had to buy another sensor in 6 months i would. who gives a fuck. i'd spend that on a few beers at the bar, instead im spending it on keeping track of keeping my ass in shape

who wants to join the acc group and get on the wolfpack team???

how does it keep track of how far you run for the acc thing ?

is there some official thing, or is it based on the honor system ?

If the the latter, I'm in, because I lie more than Fletcher Reede

coming in late, but i have the nike + thing and an ipod nano. it works great.. i drove the route i run which came up as 5.07 miles or something on the nike + sensor. when i drove it, it was showing as 4.8. so in 5 miles it was less than .3 off

not bad considering the amount of hills on the route. I try to not change my stride much, but i know i did going up a few of those hills.

me and my room mate usually set goals and compete against each other to see who can get there first, so its a little extra motivation to keep going through the winter months (i hate treadmills, i usually don't run unless it's outside)

heres how it works, you create an account on nikeplus.nike.com and you can join challenges as well as set personal goals for yourself

the sensor tracks how far you ran and what your pace is as well as calories burnt (which i find to be about 100 less than my hrm says)

so you join the acc challenge and after each run you sync your ipod and itunes will automatically send the data to the nikeplus website if you told it to during set up of nikeplus

^^ do you guys want to join the challenge?

so once you join a challenge, it will auto grab your miles ran every time you sync

ACC College Battle is the name if you can find it, im still learning how to use the site

it started yesterday and runs until feb 5 i think

^ yeah, you found us!

we were in 5th place today then i logged my 6 mile run and we got into 3rd then someone else logged a couple miles and it pushed us into 2nd place

i thought unc had more runners than we did because their miles accumulated so quickly

i have a half marathon on jan 18 so we can count on a nice boost when i get back from running that

why bother? I'll just run without spending the money on it. I don't need to track shit.

i use it and like it. not 100% accurate re: mileage (e.g. since it counts steps, if you haul ass one day, it just thinks you ran a shorter distance), but close enough.

It tells how far you run through calibration. You do this by choosing calibration mode then running a known distance. That's how it knows how long your stride is. If you don't do that, the default is pretty decent, too.
