Hi,
I got a "Check Engine Light" on my 96 Honda Accord. I got the code from Autozone as "oxygen sensor" and the guy at Cottman Transmission (Garner) said I'd have to replace the heater for the oxygen sensor. He also gave me a quote for $210 (parts+labor). Do I really need this done and if yes, is there a good place where I can get it done cheaper?
Thanks, Santosh 1/9/2009 10:10:15 AM |

assuming it's a 4 cylinder and not a v-6, and i dont know whether its the upstream or downstream sensor, it should cost you about $80-100 for the part, so that leaves $110 for 15 min worth of labor
zxappeal should be able to install it for you for less than $440 an hour 1/9/2009 10:27:22 AM |

so the check engine light came on my girlfriend's 2003 Ford Focus. I pulled the codes from the car and got 2 of them: PO751 Shift Solinoid "A" Performance or Stuck and then I also got PO761 Shift Solinoid "C" Performance or Stuck. The car seems to be having trouble going from 2nd to 3rd gear at slower speeds but seems ok at highway speeds. Is this something only a transmission shop will be able to fix and if so does anyone have any recommendations? thanks!!!!! 2/13/2009 10:16:49 AM |

have you checked the fluid level/condition? how many miles, has the fluid/filter ever been changed? 2/13/2009 5:00:58 PM |

yea fluid level was first thing I checked. only 62000 miles. I doubt filter has ever been changed or fluids flushed. 2/14/2009 8:41:50 AM |

i'd start by getting it flushed and clear the code, probably some crap buildup 2/14/2009 8:47:35 AM |
