anybody on here is doing this? If yes, I would love to hear your opinion about the career field. I'm thinking about taking the job with PPD. 1/15/2009 5:39:46 PM |

i don't have that position but i work in the industry with a competitor of PPD.
the job is great if you like to travel and don't really have anything keeping you from being in raleigh most days out of the week.
ppd on another level....i've heard mixed reviews about the company but to each is own. if you hate it, hit me up and i'll get you a job at my company doing the same thing 1/15/2009 7:25:02 PM |

^the job requires alot of traveling (from what I was told, 3 weeks out of a month). I don't know if you would like that. 1/15/2009 7:55:36 PM |

yes yes, I would. I'm young and I like to sing in the car, it's the only time I can. 1/15/2009 7:56:54 PM |

well, the CEO/founder of PPD is a graduate from my school and my PharmD degree gives me kind of an advantage over other applicants. 1/15/2009 10:52:23 PM |

I applied for something like that recently. I'm looking for the same thing just to get my foot in the door. 1/16/2009 8:40:09 AM |

I'm a PM for a large CRO and I can tell you that it really will not be your car that you will be singing in. You will spend all of your time on a plane.
Our CRAs are typically OOO Tues-Friday almost everyday of the week and a majority of them work from home.
PPD is not a bad company - all have their pluses and minuses. 1/16/2009 9:11:29 AM |

we're located in durham right off highway 55 (apex exit) just outside of RTP.
i think my company does do lab research we don't in the durham office. i think a lot of the research is in the baltimore/boston area in the US.
nope.
like erica said, it's a lot of travel but if you get your foot in the door as a CRA I relatively young, by the time you're ready to settle down, get married, and have kids, you could advance to a Clinical Lead and be home based with very limited travel.1/16/2009 5:39:40 PM |
