Both have an s-video hookup & we got an s-video cord & connected the two with it, but are having probs getting anything to show up on the tv. Yes, we've put the tv on all the inputs available, but nothing. Are we missing another cord or something? 1/17/2009 7:36:31 PM |

Is it a Dell laptop?
Because a lot of those have what look to the untrained eye like an s-video but are really a proprietary connector that requires a breakout.
Otherwise, just go to the Display preferences and make sure the second display is activated. 1/17/2009 8:36:01 PM |

Your laptop probably has a special function key to enable s-video output. On my old Sony and my old HP laptop it was Fn-F5.
Look for a symbol that looks like a box with 2 vertical bars next to it. Hold Fn and press the corresponding key. 1/17/2009 8:52:35 PM |
