I just picked that move up on DVD. I used to have a VHS copy back in college, but I don't know what happened to it after I graduated. It was one of those used ones that Hollywood video used to sell back in the day for like a dollar or two, and was left at my apartment for some reason. I watched the movie again when I got home, and I had forgotten how much I loved that movie. It reminded me of some of my past friendships that I had that while they are no more, they will always be with me. Anybody else like that movie? I think my favorite part is when they go out with her friends and then go back to that guy Charlie Brown's place and sing karaoke.

the scene where bill and scarlett are laying on the bed is my favorite - its just so real and awkward

i've never fell in love with a person on the screen like i did with scarlett in this movie

plus this movie introduced me to my bloody valentine

this guy i know bought it because he thought it was going to be some dumb comedy and he hated it - i got it from him for $5

Of course one of the best parts of the movie is the opening and the shot of Scarlett Johansson's ass.

I agree that the scene where they are just lying on the bed and talking to each other is also one of the best scenes in the film.

It came out in 2003 so there were still some people that hadn't gotten a DVD player yet.

Shit, I even like "In Good Company" because of her.

And Dennis Quaid and Eric Foreman.

But mostly her.

Decent flick, though.

great movie - i think you can appreciate it more if you've been to any of the asian countries though or at least have done a decent amount of international traveling

i forgot about this move. i think i saw it in that theater in 5 points in Raleigh where they play the rocky horror picture show every week.

i remember thinking was a good movie, but don't remember much about it. i should add it to my netflix.

the only thing that i found a little bothersome about it was

look a japanese guy playing ddr . . . look a japanese guy reading manga . . . look a japanese guy singing karaoke . . . oh no japanese people can't use Rs - never been done before

seemed to stereotype them - well i've never been there so whatever

Well I think they showed that to show how Charlotte and Bob felt out of place and were able to find comfort and familiarity in each other as the explore Tokyo together.

i love this movie

and i love bill murray

but interestingly enough, my favorite thing about this movie was the look of petulant rage that Murray tried completely unsuccessfully to mask when he didn't win the oscar for it.

I thought the movie was very well done technically with good writing, acting, and directing.

but I just couldn't get in to the forbidden love kind of story it had.

I didn't buy the VHS copy, it was just left at my apartment for some reason. I had never seen it at the time and threw it in. I was happily amazed at how good it was after watching it so I kept the VHS so that I could watch it every now and then. I don't know where it went after I moved though. I think one of my roommates took it with them. Either way I got the DVD and the special features now so it's all good.

i don't think bill murray was doing much acting here - just being himself

i wonder if they were just taping him talking to his real wife when they did those scenes

i enjoyed the movie a good bit the first time, but I can't sit through it again I dont think. Both times I have put it in with friends I have fallen asleep (granted it was sort of late...but thats when I generally watch DVDs so I dont normally have that problem) :/

I love movies like this normally but I seriously wanted to smash my head through a couple walls while watching it. I watched all of it thinking it would move me but, damnit, it was the same monotonous monotone one liners.
