One of the things that I regret most from undergrad was that I avoided taking classical, world, and american history classes. I am just looking for three to four good books that could help me get up to speed on those very valuable subjects. Any help from you history buffs out there would be greatly appreciated!

I enjoyed reading it.

The Don't Know Much About History series has actually gotten some good reviews. I've read the first, and flipped through the rest of them. Good bathroom reading.

Nation of Nations is a great book for American history that makes it really clear what events are being covered and why they are significant
