I went to Lacoste the other day just to check on their prices of their polos (I hadn't checked prices for 15+ years), and I was shocked.

Polos for $160-$200

WTF???

That's just disgusting.

I ended up buying 5 polos from other places (Next [UK] and Banana Republic) and the total damage was $100. OK, they were on sale, but still, had they not been on sale, it would have been about $200. FOR FIVE POLOS.

And they look and fit just as good (OK, they are without the alligator, so they can never be just as good ). In fact, they look better.

mootduff, you should be glad you are becoming Lacoste intolerant. You used to buy that overpriced shit??? Anyway, that's in the past; now you are reformed.

I'm guessing based on the "as an adult" comment, he was alluding to the fact that older people tend to wear eddie bauer.

[Edited on January 21, 2009 at 9:01 AM. Reason : let the record state that I'm 30, and i still don't wear that shit. ]

Dont forget he lives outside the us, and from what i understand markets in the middle east sometimes have some absurd markups/prices for designer clothing.

That's half price of what I encountered, but still, $80 is too much for a polo shirt. As I said, I picked up 5 (from other just as good and youthful brands) for $100.

The most I could see myself spending on a polo shirt would be $40, but I have never done it yet. And the most on a t-shirt would be $30, and I have done that 3 times ever.

Seasonal sales FTW.

I like some of their stuff. But then again I think their women's clothing is a lot better than the men's.
