So Men's Wearhouse is having a 50% off sweaters sale.Acceptable to wear in office setting (typically business casual but can sometimes need tie for meetings) over a button up collared shirt? Or is that too casual?[Edited on January 22, 2009 at 2:16 PM. Reason : x]

You mean like this? Because if it's good enough for Mr. Rogers, then it ought to be good enough for anyone dammit.[Edited on January 22, 2009 at 2:17 PM. Reason : .]

A nice half-zip can be good when you're trying to go out and look a little sharp but not go all out.But IMO, they are not enough for business casual. And if you're going to do a dress shirt and a tie underneath, then I think the half-zip looks kinda silly...just need to go ahead and do the sweater (although I've seen it pulled off...I wouldn't recommend it).

So glad any clothing is acceptable where I work.I probably save a few grand a year by not having to have separate wardrobes for office and street clothes.

If you're rocking a half-zip sweater, you better have some fierce chest hair poking out the top

i like half zip sweaters but i usually see them like jbrick said, with a tshirt underneath. i bet banana republic has some photos of men doing the business casual thing in half zip sweaters. they just seem like the kind of place that would advertise an outfit like that!!
