I havent seen the video, but this is what the wikipedia link above has to say about it:

I was just studying the psychology of the young men. They really have no thought of getting caught and clearly underestimate things in general. Besides video taping, why would you tape the car, get a good profile shot of someone's (perp's) face, and the place of crime you where at leave you car right out for viewing? You can learn a lot from this video if you look at it objectively.
