typing is easier. though the canned chit chat response to this should be "i just live."

type 90% of the time.

and it is fucked up in here (pressing a button puts the code at the end, not where the cursor is), so i don't bother.

macros ftw -- http://www.smileonmymac.com/TextExpander/index.html

i type bbold and it prints out the [b ] [/b ] and puts the cursor right in the middle so i can type

same with iimg, except it does the whole img src jazz and pastes the image link from the clipboard

Yeah, that shouldn't be.
Javascript is perfectly capable of keeping track of the cursor (caret). The tags should be entered where the caret is at the moment the button is pressed. Also, javascript could add both tags to selected text by pushing the button. (Just high-light the text you want bold, click the 'B' button, then boom -- opening and closing bold tags surround the text that was highlighted.)

Not hard, really. Is there a TWW suggestions box?

How embarrassing for TWW owner(s) that their lousy script compels users to employ 3rd-party scripts.

yeah, you go to a real message board for long enough and you get used to little things

like highlighting a block of text and then clicking the italics button and the section you've had highlighted is automatically bookended with the code

of course, other than the name button, the crazy code hasn't really changed since before 2003, right?

[Edited on January 25, 2009 at 5:07 AM. Reason : (i'm speaking only of the code for the post reply page, natch)]

i always type the code tags by hand.

because i, too, hate the buttons "Feature" of inserting at end of text ( )

only problem is i often fuck up the code block somehow, typically forgetting a closing bracket or putting the wrong bracket, so it screws it up and i have to edit my post just for something stupid like that.
